The WHMCS alternative that runs itself

Everything WHMCS does — billing, provisioning, storefront, support — rebuilt as a fast, hosted platform with a checkout that doesn't look like 2014. No server to run, no plugins holding it together. Import your WHMCS data and keep every client.

Free during founding access. No card required.

What’s actually different

Both handle the core job: billing, provisioning, storefront, support, analytics, and every panel and module you'd expect. You lose nothing you rely on. Here's what changes.

Where it runs

HostCore

Hosted for you. Nothing to install, patch, or upgrade — ever.

WHMCS

Your server. Your PHP upgrades, your maintenance windows, your 3am.

Storefront and checkout

HostCore

Fast, modern, and yours out of the box.

WHMCS

Stock templates look dated. Most providers pay for a theme, then maintain it.

Moving from WHMCS

HostCore

Built-in importer. Clients, services, plans and invoices come with you.

Ecosystem

HostCore

Growing. Official modules for the panels that matter, and an SDK to build your own.

WHMCS

Large, mature marketplace and twenty years of community modules.

Self-hosting

HostCore

No. It's hosted, replicated across three regions, and exportable any time.

Why people leave WHMCS

Three reasons we hear repeatedly from providers who switch.

01

Price increases

Licence pricing has risen repeatedly since the WebPros acquisition. Providers who budgeted around an older price have had to re-budget more than once, and the increases apply to installs they already run.

02

Paid add-ons

Functionality that providers consider core now sits behind separate paid add-ons. The licence price is the floor, not the total — the real monthly figure depends on which add-ons your workflow needs.

03

You own the operations

Self-hosting means you own the server, the PHP version, the patching, the upgrades and anything that breaks during them. That is real work, and it is work that does not earn you revenue.

See what you stop paying

Drag to your client count. Real list pricing on both platforms — and the headroom each plan actually buys you

Price is only half the comparison. Everyone's pricing steps up as you grow — HostCore just steps rarely, in tiers built with headroom, and never meters you per client. WHMCS re-prices at every license cap and meters its Cloud plans.

Switch from WHMCS without breaking billing

Moving billing software is terrifying — one mistake stops your revenue. So we made migration safe and transparent: you see exactly what comes over, what’s preserved, and what to set up before anything goes live.

Every migration ends with a transparent report

A plain-language summary of exactly what came over, what’s frozen, and the few things to set up— every line linked to the records it covers. You sign off before billing goes live, so nothing moves until you’re ready.

Questions before you switch

Including the places WHMCS is still the better answer.

No — HostCore is hosted only. Running it ourselves is what removes the server, the PHP patching and the upgrade breakage from your job. It is also the trade-off: if you need the database on your own metal, WHMCS is the better fit.

Yes. You bring your own gateway credentialsand your customers pay into your accounts directly. HostCore never holds or routes your customers’ money.

Yes. Point a CNAME at your store and we issue the certificate. You can also stay on a free *.myhostcore.com subdomain.

New official modules land regularly, so the modules page is the current list. Need something that isn't there? You can build your own with our Module SDK. WHMCS still has broader third-party coverage — if you depend on a panel or registrar that isn't listed, check with us before you switch.

Yes. Modules are built using our Module SDK.They run in a secure sandbox rather than as PHP inside the application. That is safer, but the ecosystem is new and smaller than WHMCS’s marketplace.

You move onto the paid price for your tier. The price you sign up at is locked for as long as you are a customer, and we will tell you well before anything changes.

In our managed infrastructure, replicated across three regions, with a public status page and post-mortems if something goes wrong. You do not administer the database — that is the hosted trade-off.

Yes. Your data is yours and it is portable on request. There is no lock-in clause and no exit fee.

Move billing once. Then stop thinking about it.

Free during founding access, no card required, and a built-in importer for the data you already have in WHMCS.
